Soleil Moon Frye (remember her from Punky Brewster?) has this lovely store in Larchmont Village in Los Angeles called The Little Seed.
I find myself going there often because—even beyond the fact that all of their baby products are eco-friendly and organic—I’m confident their items are safe for Harlow.
Soleil, who is a mom, too, has done a ton of research on finding non-toxic baby products. This is what inspired her store, actually.
Knowing that she has done her homework is part of what keeps me coming back!
Definitely do your research! An article was published recently that warned of the toxic ingredients in many common baby products on the market today. The best way to protect your child is to educate yourself and read labels. There are plenty of websites out there that disseminate this kind of information, but I have found that the best one is http://www.cosmeticsdatabase.org You can search by brand names or ingredients.
Hello, I do not know if you watch Oprah, but I thought you might be interested in the information about the Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Act being unfunded after July 2009 if we do not do something. I sent the letter to my congressman today and thought I would mention it to you so you would possibly help raise awareness about this important law to protect America’s kids. Another great LA store for green products for the home is The Green Life on Main Street in Santa Monica [http://www.thegreenlifeco.com] They have a baby and kid section but also cleaning products, laundry care, linens, gifts, kitchen items, etc. Good if you are trying to go green all throughout your house!
Oh and just about everything in the store is on their e-commerce site as well!
I am pregnant with my first child and am due in November. I have been looking for good places to shop for natural baby products and I just found a great website for anyone in the same boat…it is called Wildflower Diapers. They have everything from cloth diapers with several options of covers all the way to wooden toys. Hope this is helpful!

I
I’m glad that more moms are going green and using items that are less harmful!
It really is hard on a budget…I believe that may be the biggest set back for most moms & dads.
We paid for alot of that kinda stuff, bottles, sippies… but some things we wanted were just out of budget.
My point is, with more moms like you! Hopefully we can bring prices down for moms like me
that way it’s eco & economical!
